Bond Suss Racing (BSR) welcomes Cole Anderson behind the wheel of the Timberwolf Plastics No. 55 Toyota for the 41st Annual Hardee’s Rattler 250 on Sunday, March 19th. BSR and Anderson inked a three race deal, and that partnership kicks off this weekend at one of the biggest Super Late Model races of the year.
“I feel like Bond, with the Minnesota connection and being friends with Danny (Fredrickson), would be a good pairing and we’re looking forward to it. Bond has had success at The Rattler and we’ve had success at South Alabama Speedway, so we’re hoping for good results,” said Anderson.
“I think Cole will be a great fit with our BSR team this season,” added BSR Owner Bond Suss. “I’ve seen him race over the past few years and he definitely has a lot of talent. I’m excited to get on track with him and see what we can do this weekend.”
Anderson, a native of Northfield, MN, brings a lot of experience to BSR. In 2016 he grabbed four wins, including one at South Alabama Speedway with the Southern Super Series. His finish of 13th in his first career Rattler 250 a year ago leaves the young driver hoping for better results this weekend.
“I’m excited to race in another Rattler. We struggled last year and I feel like I know what we did wrong,” stated Anderson. “So, heading there with a new team and knowing what the race is about gives me confidence for a solid finish this year.”
Suss, however, is no stranger to holding the rattle snake in victory lane. In five trips to the annual event at South Alabama Speedway, he has one victory to his credit. Last year BSR driver Dalton Sargeant qualified tenth and raced his way into the top-five before an on track incident ended his day with less than 25 laps to go.
“The Rattler is one of the most prestigious Super Late Model races of the year and there is a lot that goes into being successful there. We will go in with a plan and with the racing knowledge Cole brings, we should be able to get on the same page quickly. That will allow us to focus on putting the best Timberwolf Plastics No. 55 Toyota on track that we can,” commented Suss.
The BRS No. 55 will be on track Friday for rotating Late Model practice from 11:00am – 3:00pm CST. There will be more practice Saturday morning followed by qualifying for the 41st Annual Hardee’s Rattler 250 at 3:00pm CST, where the top 24 cars will be locked in on time. The green flag will wave for the 250-lap event on Sunday, March 19th at 2:00pm CST.
